Greenwich Park Bench – Robust, Modern & Built for Public Life
The Greenwich park bench is a heavy-duty, contemporary design engineered for durability and timeless appeal. Featuring horizontal back rails and a vertical tie rail, its clean silhouette suits urban plazas, parks, transport hubs, and civic spaces—blending modern aesthetics with proven British craftsmanship.
Handmade from Sustainable Iroko Hardwood
Crafted from sustainably sourced Iroko (Chlorophora excelsa) from ITTO-compliant West African forests, the Greenwich bench offers:
- Exceptional resistance to rot, insects, and all-year weather
- A rich, warm grain that matures to a dignified silver-grey patina
- No chemical treatments—only end grain is waxed for protection
Traditional Joinery, Built to Be Repaired
Made in our Essex workshop using time-honoured methods:
- Mortise-and-tenon joints for structural integrity
- Extensive dowel reinforcement
- Minimal adhesive (“dry” assembly) for easy future repair or refurbishment
This repairable philosophy ensures decades of service, reducing lifecycle costs and environmental impact.
Ethical Timber, Lasting Value
By using timber from forests managed under International Tropical Timber Organisation (ITTO) guidelines, we help maintain economic incentives for reforestation and conservation. Choosing the Greenwich bench supports responsible forestry and British manufacturing.
