In addition to its sustainable origins, every Poplar bench is handmade in our Essex workshop using time-honoured joinery methods. Specifically, this includes:

- A minimal-adhesive, “dry” construction approach—which means future repairs are straightforward and cost-effective

Ultimately, our philosophy is simple: great furniture should last generations. That’s why we avoid permanent adhesives and chemical treatments. Only the end grain is waxed to slow moisture ingress—keeping the timber natural and breathable. Consequently, if a slat wears or a rail cracks decades from now, it can be replaced without scrapping the entire bench.
